| Description: | Responsible for checking patients in or out, accepting and entering payments and answering the telephone. Requires sitting for long periods of time. Working in office environment. Some bending and stretching required. Working under stress and use of telephone and fax machine required. Manual dexterity required for use of calculator and computer keyboard. | Duties: | Welcomes patients and visitors to the medical office by greeting patients and visitors in person and on the telephone, and answering inquires or referring question to other staff members. Schedules appointments for the physician to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time and most effective utilization of examining and treatment rooms. Prepares and maintains daily appointments. Check out patients, to include, collection of co-payments and other fees, and schedule follow-up appointments. Enters all New Patient information in to software and maintains current patient information at all times. Send patients with delinquent accounts to patient representatives for financial agreements and billing questions. Issue HIPAA information pamphlet and obtain signature on HIPAA form. Good communication skills. Demonstrate talent at interacting effectively with all types of people. Committed to exceeding quality standards and providing exceptional services. Effectively allocates resources and time. Participates in in-service education, staff meetings and other continuing education programs to maintain optimal technical knowledge. Adheres to department and office policies. Attends safety classes and compliance training as offered by Physicians East, PA. Balance till with receipts. Responsible for delivering to till to insurance at the end of each day. Performs other duties as required or instructed. | Qualifications: | High School Diploma; computer experience; good customer service, organizational and time management skills; dependable transportation. Associate degree in medical field preferred. |
